FIFA wants to bring together Zidane and Materazzi

FIFA are trying to bring together French captain Zinedine Zidane and Italy defender Marco Materazzi, Sepp Blatter, chief of the world soccer's governing body, said on Monday.
Zidane was sent off in the second period of extra time in the World Cup final in July for head-butting Materazzi, who had insulted the French midfielder.

Italy went on to defeat France 5-3 on penalties after the game in Berlin's Olympic Stadium finished tied at 1-1.
"We are working on bringing together Materazzi and Zidane," Blatter told the FIFA International Football Symposium and UEFA Conference for National Coaches in the German capital.

"There are different projections, such as going together to Robben Island in South Africa where (Nelson) Mandela was in prison for 27 years.
"This would bring an end to this story. It is a pity, I have to say, when a World Cup final ends with a red card," Blatter said.
