Mel Gibson arrested

Mel Gibson was arrested in Malibu for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol Friday morning after Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies pulled over his vehicle for speeding.
He was driving his 2006 Lexus sedan at about 80 mph in a 45 mph zone on the Pacific Coast Highway, sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore said.

"We arrested Mr. Gibson on suspicion of driving under the influence, and we took him into the station without incident and we released him and gave him a citation," he said. "We will now prepare the case."
Gibson‘s arrest record reveals he was stopped at 2:36 a.m. and booked at 4:06 a.m. at the Lost Hills Station.
Gibson was taken into custody and posted $5,000 bond for his release, Whitmore said.

The officer who stopped Gibson reported that his blood-alcohol content was .12. The legal limit is .08.
Gibson‘s publicists at Rogers & Cowen in Hollywood released a brief statement saying: "At this time we don‘t have any information on this matter but are checking into it."
Gibson, who acted in the "Lethal Weapon" and "Mad Max" movie series, and won an Oscar for directing 1995‘s Oscar-winning best picture "Braveheart", was not available for comment.
