Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx on parade at Miami Vice premiere

Hollywood heartthrobs Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx will make an appearance on the red carpet for the European premiere of Miami Vice tonight.
The new movie version of the 1980s hit cop show stars the pair as undercover cops Sonny Crockett (Farrell) and Ricardo Tubbs (Foxx).

The £73m (€106.5m) film, directed by Michael Mann, which is set to open in Ireland next week, has received a cool response from US critics.
British actress Naomi Harris, who has just made her name in Hollywood movie Pirates of the Caribbean, plays Oscar-winner Foxx’s intelligence analyst girlfriend and is also attending the film’s Leicester Square premiere tonight.

Mann, whose films include The Insider and Collateral, has wanted to make a Miami Vice movie ever since he saw the script for the pilot episode of the TV series.
He became executive producer of the TV classic, which starred Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas as undercover cops dressed in designer clothes.
Irish actor Farrell, 30 recently admitted a four-week stay in rehab, saying: “Drinking was something I did every day for about 15 years.”
