Baldwin brother in auto accident

Daniel Baldwin, part of the Baldwin actor clan, has been hospitalized after reportedly crashing into two parked cars at an estimated speed of 125km/h.

The 45-year-old, who made news in April when he was arrested for cocaine possession, was driving a silver-colored rented Ford Thunderbird at a speed of 80 mph at about 1 pm in Los Angeles's Bundy Drive, the speed limit for which is 35 mph. He jumped a red signal and on being chased by a traffic policeman, sped towards Saltair Avenue. In doing so, the actor smashed into two parked cars, one of which was a Hummer.

According to Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) spokesperson Jason Lee, the Hummer was thrown 20 feet due to the impact. “The officer tried to catch up to the Thunderbird, lost sight of it momentarily and came up to a traffic collision where the T-bird had crashed into two parked vehicles. The Thunderbird pushed one of the vehicles about 20 feet, and that was a Hummer,” he said.
Baldwin and an unidentified woman who was with him in the car were taken to the UCLA Medical Center. The actor is believed to have suffered neck and back injuries. But the extent of his injuries is not clear, nor is whether he was driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
This isn’t the first time the actor has clashed with the law in 2006. In March he was arrested and charged with drug violations after police found cocaine on Baldwin in a Santa Monica, California hotel.
