Intel produces the new processor for server-based stations

The new processor for server-based stations of Montecito, which output was originally planned for 1 quarter of 2006, will come out on July 18. Intel already beginning the delivery of new processors to the companies - distributors of server-based stations, PC World informs.

In opinion of Jim McGregor employee of the In-Stat analytical company, the Montecito output becomes the large forward step for Intel. Besides, the new processor will be binuclear; he will differ with low power consumption (less than 100 V). Montecito consists of 1, 72 billion transistors (for comparison - Yonah Core Duo counts 151, and Smithfield Pentium Extreme Edition - 230 millions transistors), and the L3 cache size will be 24 mbytes.

Intel does not plan to make Montecito in the large ranges, as the basic customers of new processors will become large research firms, which will use the novelty from Intel in scientific work, for example, on modeling of zoom phenomenon.
