GM and Renault-Nissan will explore the possibility of an alliance within 90 days

On Friday the chief of GM concern Richard Wagoner and chief of Renault and Nissan companies Carlos Ghosn have agreed to study possible variants of an alliance of the auto manufacturers during nearest 90 days, informs Reuters. Earlier, the committees of directors of the companies have supported an opportunity of such alliance.

The first conference of committee of directors GM, devoted to the future alliance, will be held today, July 17. It is expected, that at the conference the GM leadership will study possible benefits of the company from creation of the alliance.

For the first time for creation of GM and Renault-Nissan union has offered by one of the shareholders of the American concern Kirk Kerkorian. One of variants of the alliance was to sell Renault and Nissan till 10 percents of the GM additional actions. The chief of Renault and Nissan companies Carlos Ghosn practically right away has supported the idea of the alliance. However, answering on questions of the journalists, he has excluded the opportunity to lead itself GM.
