New diesel engine adds to Volvo C70 range

Volvo's 5 cylinder, 2.4 litre D5 turbodiesel engine is initially available with Geartronic transmission as standard so drivers can enjoy the benefits of automatic transmission with the flexibility of a manual gearbox.

With 0-60mph achievable in 8.8 seconds, Volvo anticipate that 35% of the all-new C70s will be sold with the D5 diesel engine and the Sport is expected to be the most popular trim level.

Hugh Reid, MD of Volvo Car UK says : "With room for four adults and the added security of a unique three-piece folding metal roof that transforms it from a coupe to a convertible in less than 30 seconds, the all-new Volvo C70 is already proving a great success. The diesel engine is more good news for the new C70's desirability."
