China has manufactured its first personal robot that can live at home as a partner and help out with domestic chores. "Liangliang", the silver-coloured 80 cm tall robot, is able to walk, navigate through obstacles at ease and perform duties as instructed by humans. Pirated software products worth 140 billion yuan (around $17.5 billion) were sold in China in 2005, accounting for 26 percent of the country's total sales in the software industry. Intel Corp. on Monday plans to unveil a single brand name for a new generation of chips for laptop PCs and desktop machines, calling them the Core 2 Duo.
