America is going soccer mad so far this World Cup season. Preliminary ratings for the broadcast by Walt Disney Co.-owned ABC of the opening weekend of the 2006 World Cup soccer championship rose 65 percent over the 2002 tournament, ESPN, ABC's sister station, said on Monday. The worm, which Symantec calls JS.Yamanner@m, is different from others in that a user merely has to open the e-mail to cause it to run, said Kevin Hogan, senior manager for Symantec Security Response. Mass-mail worms have usually been contained in an attachment with an e-mail note encouraging a user to open it. Like a good soccer match, the monthly sales battles between the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 2 have a lot of exciting back-and-forth. Google is preparing to launch an online payment system dubbed Gbuy on 28 June, financial analysts with RBC Capital Markets claimed in a research note.
